Cancellations and Delays Continue as French Air Traffic Strike Reaches Fourth Day

Flights to and from France continue to be cancelled and delayed due to a 5 day air traffic strike.

Today (Thursday), marks the fourth day of the 5 day French air traffic strike, which began on Monday.

The walk-out action is being taken by French aviation employees over working hours and conditions.

French airports which have been largely affected by the strike over the last four days include: Bordeaux, Brest, and Aix-en-Provence.

In a statement issued on their website, airline EasyJet, warned their passengers of the potential impact the strike could play on their travels:

“We are working to minimise the impact of the strike, but like other airlines flying to and from France there will be cancellations and potential delays.

“There is expected strike action for the rest of the week, once we have confirmation we will update you if your flight is affected.

“Although this situation is outside of our control, we do understand that it can be very frustrating situation for all customers travelling.”

The British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) have issued information regarding the strike to travellers in a recent update:

“French air traffic controllers in Brest, Aix-en-Provence and Bordeaux have called for a 5 day strike from Monday 6 March 2017. This may impact flights to and from France or those using French airspace.

“You should contact your airline for updated information.”
