Greek trade unions are set to strike this week, causing disruption to domestic flights across the islands.
The strike, which is set to run for the rest of this week (Tuesday 4th Oct - Saturday 8th Oct), is not anticipated to have an effect on international services.
Advice has been issued to travellers who plan to fly on domestic Greek routes, during this period, suggesting that they should contact their airlines for advice.
The foreign travel advice for Greece was updated yesterday, by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). The British FCDO have said: “Greek trade unions have announced strike action that is expected to cause disruption to a number of domestic flights from 4 to 8 October.
“International flights are not to be affected.
“If you intend to travel between these dates, contact your airline tour operator for advice.
“There are regular strikes, sometimes called at short notice, that can cause disruptions to public transport (including air travel and ports).”
