If you intend to drive a car while abroad, we can only provide cover under certain sections of your Direct Travel policy - Section F: Emergency Medical/Dental Cover Abroad and Section I: Personal Accident.
There is no cover across Direct Travel policies under Section H: Personal Liability. So, if you are held financially responsible for damage you cause to another person or their property, you would not be able to make a claim through your travel insurance policy. This is an industry-standard clause, and you will need to ensure that the vehicle owner, or hire company, provides you with adequate personal liability cover.
Please note, you are not covered for your personal belongings if they are left unattended in a motor vehicle.
If you do not have a Direct Travel policy, and have instead taken out cover with one of our other providers, you will need to refer to your Policy Wording.
